Framework Partners Inc.
Contractor, 2001-Present
  • Used Microsoft Excel to record, organize, analyze and present the results of surveys that Framework, a management consultant company, conducted on behalf of a wide variety of clients. Examples include The Calgary French School, ATCO Midstream, and the Alberta Association of Orthotists and Prosthetists.
  • Cooperated with graphic designers to produce websites for Framework clients such as the Allan Centre for Women.
  • Continues to update and maintain Framework's corporate website.

Nortel Networks
Technical Writer (Anti-Virus Emergency Response Team / Security Development), 1999-2000
  • Developed and maintained multiple large network security web sites simultaneously, with the expectation of prompt and frequent updates.
  • Upgraded and trouble-shooted a web site on electronic security, consisting of over fifty individual web pages. Received positive feedback from end-users and praise from senior managers for meeting and surpassing project expectations.
  • Adapted and redesigned an existing anti-virus web site, resulting in clearer communication about computer virus issues and increased employee awareness. Improved prevention of future large-scale computer virus outbreaks as a result.
  • Edited procedures for computer virus incidents, incorporating suggestions from both team members and end-users to improve usability. Received positive feedback from both groups, including a senior anti-virus analyst.
  • Suggested and implemented improvements in the tracking and display of computer virus statistics. Easier detection and tracking of potential internal virus issues as a result.
  • Assisted human resources with editing, layout and copying of handouts for a career fair. Received a Silver Peer Award for surpassing job requirements.

  • Cumulative GPA of 4.00/4.00. Awarded the Gold Medal for highest proficiency in the faculty of humanities, as well as various scholarships for academic achievement.

COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Experienced with various Windows platforms. Some experience with Macintosh also.
  • Typing speed: 65-70 WPM.
  • Proficient in HTML and CSS (stylesheets); self-taught over the last eight years. Also familiar with Microsoft FrontPage and similar applications.
  • Some knowledge of JavaScript, server side includes (SSI) and PERL/CGI; self-taught over the last seven years.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office; proficient in Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint. Also comfortable with similar applications such as Open Office and WordPerfect.
  • Familiar with Adobe Photoshop; experience from a university art course plus eight years of personal and commercial usage.
