3-headed undead monster wants to help you carry your groceries.

I opened a store on Zazzle for
all the
Angels of Disruption events. You can check it out
here.
And now that I've designed 9 different products tonight, and also created fliers to advertise the whole thing at
Discordia and
Conspiracy, I'm probably way too overstimulated to sleep, so
Pandaemonium should be interesting tomorrow / later today.

Now with 100% more guitar and 200% more Satan...
Category: Site Update
Okay, big Angels of Disruption site update today:
- Honest Evil's comment log was full of spam, so I decided to just delete the whole site for now;
- A javascript wasn't working on Mourning After Pill, resulting in the website being totally fucked up. This has now been fixed.
- Rearranged the main Angels of Disruption page, to get rid of Honest Evil and make room for some new items. There is a big space on one side, but that is intentional because I anticipate putting New Item #2 there a couple months from now. For now, only New Item #1 is up, that being....
- Pandaemonium: A rudimentary website is now up for the new event (start date: Wednesday, April 14) that I'd been hinting at.
Edit: Here's a more legible-for-online flier; I'll put the obnoxious burning goat behind a cut.

No more myspace.
Category: Site Update
So, I've now killed my myspace and set up my new picture blog, which is under the oh-so-original name of
sinvokasha_pics.
If you are already on the friend list of sinvokasha, you should be able to see the pictures. I have only uploaded a few to the gallery so far. I think what I will do is, as I upload pictures, I will periodically "feature" one or two in actual journal entries so that they show up in peoples' friend feeds.
+10 Geek points to the person who already figured it out and added the new journal before I could even type this, i.e. like 2 seconds after I added them.

I've decided to ditch the gallery on the
Chimera website and replace it with a merchandise section.
I received confirmation from the printer tonight that t-shirts should be ready for pick-up tomorrow. I also got buttons made. These will both be on sale at the event this Thursday, October 29, $20 for the shirts and $2 for the buttons. There are about 25-30 shirts available and 45 buttons.
There may also be some other merchandise available in the future, but I do not have time to make the designs right now (i.e. or any time in the next two weeks), so that will have to wait.
As for pictures of the event, I think 99% of people who care are getting that from Facebook anyway, which is why I've decided I don't care. This is no slight to those who have provided me with photos in the past, as I did appreciate it at the time, but I think enough time has passed that we should all just realistically accept that I am not going to keep on top of updating that part of the website.

Minor journal updates...
Category: Site Update
- Added some new links to my angelsofdisruption.com journal, primarily links to webcomics that I want to follow but have been forgetting to check. For some reason this entails a disproportionate number of evil teddy bears, but *shrug*
- Removed a bunch of livejournal users in the following categories:
- Hasn't posted in years
- Podcasts that I never actually have the time to listen to
- Syndicated comics that are either defunct, or for some reason stopped updating properly at some point
If you are on LJ and I've removed you, if you are still using your LJ to follow
my LJ that's fine. I just wanted to clear up some of the clutter on my end though. If you remove me because that's just what you automatically do if someone removes you, that's also fine.

Cover song list updated…
Category: Site Update
I updated the
industrial/goth/etc. cover songs list again today.
I added
a lot of songs to it - 4 tribute albums worth at least - so I don't feel like listing all that.
Take a look if you're interested, and as always, let me know if you know of more songs to add.

More industrial cover songs...
Category: Site Update
It occurred to me that I haven't updated the
industrial/gothic/etc. cover songs list for awhile. So today I added these:
The Birthday Massacre - I Think We're Alone Now (Tiffany)
Blutengel - Stay (Annie Lennox)
Dope Stars Inc. - Shock to the System (Billy Idol)
FGFC820 - Ich Bin Ein Auslander (Pop Will Eat Itself)
Massiv in Mensch - Sunday Bloody Sunday (U2)
Neuroticfish - They're Coming to Take Me Away (Napoleon the XIV)
The Newlydeads - Cities in Dust (Siouxsie and the Banshees)
Phase III - Fade to Gray (Visage)
Strawberry Switchblade - Jolene (Dolly Parton)
I also removed one reference because I learned awhile back that I had the song ownership backward re: who wrote vs. who covered "Thirteen."
As always, if you're aware of any 'dark' covers not on this list, please let me know.

Gee, that only took two years to get around to doing...
Category: Site Update
After much irritating struggle with MySQL and related whatnot, I've got a photo gallery running on the actual
Chimera website. You can check it out
here.
Lesson learned: Fantastico is useless - I can install something like this better by myself, and would have wasted far less time if I hadn't been struggling with errors from something that is supposed to set these things up automatically.
At least it is finally done now though.

KiEw did a cover of "They're Coming to Take Me Away"??
Category: Site Update
Just posted a whole bunch of new entries to the
Industrial Cover Songs list. This is something I found on the Internet and saved years ago; when it disappeared, I put it onto my own server, with my entries distinguished from others' work with **'s.
It's pretty damn long at this point, but if anyone takes a look and sees things missing, do let me know and I'll add them.
On a related note: Songs that I myself think there needs to be an industrial cover of:
- Blue Oyster Cult - Veteran of the Psychic Wars
This song is so thoroughly angsty that I think it'd be great in industrial format. Moreover, since it's on the soundtrack of the original Heavy Metal movie, which I'm a fan of, I've had the urge to make this cover myself.
- NIB by Black Sabbath
I actually started making this one via Mourning After Pill, but never finished.
- Pretty much any song by Danizg
"Dominion" is probably the one I've got furthest with as far as everything I've tried to cover with Mourning After Pill goes, but it's crossed my mind that doing "Mother" with female vocals would amuse me.
- Rasputin by Bony M
I'd so play this at Chimera if an industrial cover of decent quality existed. That would be seriously awesome.
Speaking of Chimera, if anyone sees anything on there that they're curious to hear - especially the ** ones, which I generally have in my own music collection - feel free to let me know, as I don't have it all with me all the time.
Anyway, I also posted some updates to my
About Me page, which I'm forever forgetting about and letting get way out of date.

Change in comment filtering and related practices.
Category: Site Update
I've recently changed the spam-prevention plugins I use on the
Ophidian Convolutions site. I now have one that is supposed to stop spam from even getting posted, and another which does not allow any comment more than a week old to be posted without my approval; I'm hoping that this combination will make it so that I can go back to getting e-mail notification when someone leaves me a comment without this amounting to getting endless e-mail notifications about spam.
I've also banned one person's IP address & etc., because while the person in question isn't particularly objectionable in the strong sense and I realize is trying to contribute to conversation on here, I find that their comments persistently display one or more of the following features:
1) are phrased in such a way as to bluntly imply that I don't know what I'm talking about, that I don't know something that should be obvious, or that I haven't noticed something that any intelligent person would;
2) need to beak off on a subject despite professed ignorance on the topic in question, especially if it has anything to do with goths or women/feminism;
3) a tone which consistently causes me to ask "why are you even here when we have practically nothing in common and you don't really seem to be trying that hard to understand anything new, as opposed to just looking for a place to sound off on whatever views you already have?"
Perhaps it is closed-minded and petty to ban someone over such minor issues which admittedly fall far short of full trollery, but it is my journal, and it occurs to me I'd enjoy it more without reading anything from this particular person, so to me the end justifies the means. I'm sure what with him having said he is above personal Internet drama that he'll get over it and grasp that this doesn't mean that I hate him in person, but just that I'd rather not interact with him online when his comments inevitably annoy me for my own idiosyncratic reasons.
And no, this is not anyone in the tea group, nor is it the person you might expect has been getting a certain amount of nameless reference to on here in the last couple weeks;
him I would always be more than happy to hear more from.
