Biography

When Enuzir decided that he needed to pursue the purification/punishment of the Nameless One, Lazramael was the only Luminary who questioned the wisdom of this plan. As punishment for his resistance, Lazramael's wings were cut off - he was severed from Enuzir, and forced to assume and remain in human form. It was expected that he would go insane from the torment of being separated from his creator.

But instead of despairing at his fall, Lazramael, who took the human name of Jairus Blake, decided to take advantage of his separation from Enuzir's control. He went amongst the Kimerae and ultimately contacted the Daemons. Initially they were suspicious of him, but eventually he won their respect and even an honorary place amongst them, since his powers, although reduced and bound now to his physical body, remained formidable. From the Daemons, Jairus learned much that Enuzir had forgotten or concealed - knowledge that he began to use to plot Enuzir's downfall. As a sign of his opposition to Enuzir and his respect for his new allies, he adopted the Daemon name Lazrathoth.

When Thiyavat (Sin Invokasha) went into hiding amongst the Daemons, they introduced her to Jairus. Later on, when she was threatened with annihilation by the Luminaries, Jairus played a role in preserving the small portion of her consciousness that survived. Together they continued with Jairus' plans to thwart Enuzir's ambitions. However, they were not able to succeed before the Invasion, and related catastrophic events, resulted in Sin's disappearance.

Thinking Sin dead, Jairus nonetheless did not give up hope with regard to stopping Enuzir's madness. Assisted by his half-Lamia mistress, Mirrore Invokasha, he continued over the years to plot against his creator. But without Sin, Jairus' progress has been largely limited to the realm of knowledge rather than being translated into action.

Also hampering Jairus' efforts is his compulsive desire for vengeance against Enuzir, a desire that has only been aggravated by Sin's apparent death. For although Jairus appears ever reserved on the outside, on the inside his hatred distorts his magical will. Hatred also leads him to assume, once Sin revives, that Enuzir and the Luminaries are wholly or primarily to blame for her mysterious tribulation - perhaps in neglect of evidence to the contrary...
