Biography

Sacriphice was born into an aristocratic family. As the only member of his family more interested in the spiritual than the political part of Tenebrae temple life, he continually felt alienated by his family's intrigues as he grew up. His disgust with their hypocrisy ultimately resulted in a violent confrontation, culminating in his partly-enforced, partly-chosen exile. As a response to this estrangement, he changed his given name to Treacheris, but kept his bloodline name in reference to ancestors whom he respected more than his immediate family.

Treacheris ultimately became head of the Necronoctist Inquisition - a natural development given his fanatical devotion to the Daemons. Upon achieving this position, he promptly took action to purge the Tenebrae religious body of corruption, eliminating several members of his family in the process. Such ruthlessness is, curiously perhaps, one of the reasons why Lady Sorrow is so attracted to him.

Treacheris is familiar with Sin Invokasha as an infamous heretic of the past, one whose actions, according to Inquisitional interpretation, may have been responsible in part for the success of the Celesti-Solari invasion that has brought Tenebrae culture to its current low. Thus, in the present he zealously persecutes any heretic whose beliefs and actions remind him of her, for fear that without such intervention, some even-worse fate might befall the Tenebrae. In this area, his accusing gaze falls upon many, from minor trouble-makers such as Hexx Chicaneri, to well-known public figures such as The Angels of Disruption, Jinx's band.

Sin's resurrection is the last thing that Treacheris expects. Yet at the same time, he is haunted by premonitions of such an event. The basis of these premonitions lies in Treacheris' own past - a past both longer and more disturbing than he generally reveals. For there are some atrocities that even an Inquisitor is at pains to justify...
